🔒 Privacy Policy
What happens to your data here, stated against the code rather than against a template.
What Actually Happens To Your Data
This page describes the site as it is built, not as template sites usually describe themselves. Every claim below can be checked against the public repository these pages are generated from.
Short version: there is no account to sign up for, no form to fill in, no analytics script and no advertising network. What does move is listed here, including the parts such pages normally leave out.
Nothing Is Collected By This Site
- No accounts, no logins, no forms -- there is nowhere on these pages to type a name or address into
- No analytics software and no advertising scripts, so no page-view counts, no session recording and no profile of you
- No cookies set by this site at all
- No financial information, and no reason to send any
Traces that exist anyway, because reading a website is not trace-free
- Hosting logs. Files arrive from GitHub's servers, which record ordinary request metadata -- IP address, browser string, referring page -- under GitHub's privacy statement. Retention of those logs is GitHub's policy to set, not ours.
- Typefaces from Google. Stylesheets and font files load from Google's CDN, so Google sees a request carrying your IP address each time a page loads. Blocking
fonts.googleapis.comin a content blocker leaves the site fully readable in your browser's fallback typeface. - A setting on your own device. Choosing light or dark mode saves that preference to your browser's local storage. It stays on the device, is never transmitted, and goes away when you clear site data.
If you write to us
Mail sent to hello@unkiethestockjunkie.com arrives at this domain's mailbox and is forwarded to whoever maintains the site. Copies persist in mail systems neither of us operates: inbound storage, the forwarding provider, and whatever backup or deleted-items retention those services apply. Email is not a confidential channel and should not carry anything you would regret later -- no brokerage screenshots, account or username fragments, government ID numbers, home address or school name. A first name or a handle is enough to get a reply.
Ask for removal by replying to that address and anything still held here gets deleted. The limit, stated honestly: once a message has passed through forwarding into another provider's storage, deleting it here does not reach that copy.
How Information Is Used
- To answer messages that were sent voluntarily
- To fix broken pages somebody reported
The corollary is worth stating out loud: with no analytics running, nobody here knows which pages get read most. No one can see your browsing, how long you stayed, or where you arrived from. Popularity on this site is invisible by design -- which is also why you will not find reader-count bragging on any page here. There is no measurement to brag with.
Third Parties
Two organisations see anything, and neither is here to track you:
GitHub
Hosts every file, therefore serves every request. See GitHub's Privacy Statement.
Serves the webfonts. Nothing else from Google runs here -- no Analytics, no Tag Manager, no adverts.
No analytics platform is installed, so nothing here runs "if enabled." If that ever changes, this page gets rewritten before the script ships rather than after someone asks.
Younger Readers
Written for people about 16 and up -- old enough to earn money and start deciding what happens to it. Younger readers can follow it with an adult alongside. Nobody, of any age, is invited to submit personal information, because there is no field to submit it into.
The site is not directed at children under 13 and holds no knowingly-collected personal information about them. If you are a parent or guardian and something involving your child has reached us -- typically an email you did not want sent -- say so and it is removed from anything we control.
Data Security
The strongest protection here is that there is hardly anything to protect:
- Served over HTTPS
- No database, no user table, no password store -- nothing to breach beyond the published source itself
- The entire site, including these claims, is public code anyone can inspect
Your Rights Here
- Clearing site data on your device removes the only thing stored locally, which is your theme choice
- Ask for deletion of anything you emailed and it goes from anything held here
- Nothing needs opting out of, because nothing tracks you -- check the network panel in your own browser if you would rather verify than believe this sentence
- Raise any concern by email; it reaches a person, not a queue
Changes To This Policy
Updates appear on this page. Because the site builds from a public repository, wording is not quietly overwritten -- each revision of this document sits in the commit history beside the code it describes.
Last revised: October 2026, when this page was rewritten to match the code after it was found describing analytics and a contact form that do not exist.
